- Patients should use Refissa once a day, before retiring.
- Gently wash face using a mild soap or cleanser. Pat dry and wait 20 to 30 minutes before applying Refissa.
- Distribute a pearl-sized (1/4 inch diameter) amount of Refissa from fingertip to cheeks, forehead and chin. Then spread evenly on the face, avoiding eyes and the skin around nose, ears and lips.
Refissa 0.05% is indicated for mitigation (palliation) of fine facial wrinkles, mottled hyperpigmentation and tactile roughness in patients who use a comprehensive skin care and sunlight avoidance program (including sunscreen). Refissa does not eliminate wrinkles, repair sun damaged skin, reverse photo-aging or restore more youthful or younger skin. Do not use if the patient is taking drugs known to be photosensitizers, pregnant, attempting pregnancy, or nursing. Refissa, early in treatment, may cause redness, itching, burning, stinging and peeling. If the degree of irritation warrants, patient should be advised to use less medication and decrease the frequency of application. If still significant, patient should be advised to discontinue use.
